Fairmont Speech claims 6th in Stillwater tournament
FAIRMONT – Thirteen members of the Fairmont Speech Team competed on Jan. 11 at the Stillwater and Mounds Park Academy, the ‘WaterPark’ Speech Tournament in Stillwater, Minnesota.
Team Sweepstakes Results:
Fairmont ranked 6th Place out of 26 teams.
Varsity Individual Sweepstakes Results:
Senior Oliver Thedens took 3rd Place.
Varsity Finals Results:
Duo Interpretation: Seniors Grace Simpson and Oliver Thedens were the Champions and Sophomore Annie Reyelts and Evan Reyelts took 5th Place.
Extemporaneous Reading: Senior Oliver Thedens took 2nd Place.
Extemporaneous Speaking: Senior Dominick Lund-May took 6th Place.
Humorous Interpretation: Sophomore Leon Yang was the Champion and Senior Isaac Thomas took 2nd Place.
Impromptu: Junior Bel Lutterman took 3rd Place.
Program of Oral Interpretation: Sophomore Allie Streit took 6th Place.
Prose: Cooper Gudahl took 7th Place.
Varsity Next-In Final Results:
Freshman Michelle Esquivel took 3rd Place.
Novice Final Results:
Humorous Interpretation: Freshman Evan Reyelts took 5th Place.
Poetry: Freshman Hailey McConnell was the Champion.
