CEYLON — The Cribbage Tournament will begin with registration at 1:15 p.m. today at the Legion Hall in Welcome. All area Cribbage players are welcome.

The Ceylon Fire Department Relief Association will have a Pancake Brunch from 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow, Jan. 12 in the banquet room at Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, ham and juice, milk or coffee. There will be a free-will donation for the cost, please be generous. Proceeds will help purchase equipment. If you are unable to attend but would like to help, donations may be sent to Ceylon Fire Relief Box 201, Ceylon Minn. 56121.

Condolences to the families of Jerry Rosenberg, a long-time Ceylon area resident, and June Janssen from Dunnell, with relatives in Ceylon. They will be missed by family and friends.

The Ceylon Coffee Lovers meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday at the banquet room in the back of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. All area residents are welcome to join them for coffee and fellowship.

The Ceylon City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Jan. 14 at the City Hall. Questions and comments are accepted at the beginning of each meeting. This will be the first official meeting for the two new council members, Tiffany Marlin and Terry Muller, and the new mayor Judith Perkins.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have their service at 9:30 a.m. and will have their Annual Voter’s meeting following. Their Partner congregation at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn has 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday. The Circle of Faith Parishes have 9 a.m. services scheduled at First Lutheran Church in Trimont and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church plans to have services at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, and Bible Class at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday. All area residents are welcome to join these congregations for worship.
