Welcome Legion meets on Monday

WELCOME — The Welcome Burn Site will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday for use by Welcome residents only. Please bring only wood that is six inches in diameter or less and no garbage.

The Cribbage Tournament will begin with registration at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the Legion Hall in Welcome. All area Cribbage players are welcome.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance group will meet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, at the Shaw home at 804 West First Street in Welcome. Dancers and watchers are welcome.

The Ceylon Fire Relief Association will be preparing a Pancake Brunch to raise funds for equipment from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Jan. 12 at the banquet room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. It is an all-you-can-eat delicious menu of pancakes, french toast, sausage, ham, scrambled eggs, and juice or coffee for a free-will donation.

The Circle of Faith parishes will have services at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont and 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome during Jan.

Condolences to the families of Gary Miller and Ronald Garlisch who passed away recently. They will be missed.

The Welcome Legion is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 at the Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend.

Ruby’s Pantry Grocery Distribution will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 20 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, just south of I-90. There are no residential or income guidelines for participants. The cost is $25 per bundle. A partial list is on Facebook before the date.

A CREST Lunch-n-Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on Jan. 15 at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a sandwich and soup lunch. These programs are free to senior citizens in Martin County. A free-will donation for the lunch is appreciated.
