CEYLON — I hope all of you had a good Christmas. In a few days, it will be New Year 2025. Remember to write that on correspondence, checks, etc., and flip your calendar a few days ahead just in case you have a birthday in the first few days of the month. Did you make a New Year’s resolution? Have a happy and safe new year.

My address for snail mail is changing someday, to be determined. The road past our farm has been changed to a county road since the city re-worked it. The Circle of Faith Parishes will have a joint service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, with a brunch to follow. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have a 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Dec. 29, and their partner church St. John’s in Sherburn will have only one service at 8 a.m. on Sunday with no Sunday School or SALT group meeting. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have a service at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 4. and their Bible Class will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Area residents are welcome to join these Churches for their events.

The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have a Vikings Sunday special event beginning at 2:30 p.m. and the kitchen will be open from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, in Ceylon. They are usually not open on Sundays. New Year’s Eve will be a regular taco or pork carnitas night.

Coffee Lovers meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. Area residents are welcome to join them for fellowship and coffee.

The Ceylon High School All-School Reunion is scheduled for June 28, 2025. Remind your relatives to put that date on their calendar and plan to attend the gathering. No mailings will be done so spread the word.
