Mavericks games over holiday break
WELCOME — I hope you had a good holiday. The Circle of Faith Parishes will have a joint Service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, with a brunch to follow. St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will have only one service at 8 a.m. on Sunday and there will be no Sunday School or SALT group meeting.
Martin County West students will return from winter break on Jan. 2. Today and Saturday, Dec. 27 and Dec. 28, the girl’s hockey will be battling Fairmont in Blaine. The boy’s and girl’s basketball teams will play in the Holiday Tournament on Dec. 27 and 28 at Windom. The Boys hockey will play against Windom on Jan. 2 at the Martin County Arena in Fairmont. Good luck, Mavericks.
The Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the City Hall. Public questions and comments will be accepted at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, contact the City Hall before the meeting at (507) 728-8740.
The City of Welcome explains that residents of the ordinance should not park on the streets until the snow has been removed curb to curb. When there are more than two inches of snow, the snow is piled in the middle of the street. If there are cars parked on the side, the city workers have a hard time removing the snow without a risk of colliding. Thank you for your cooperation when there is snow.
A Welcome High School All-Class Reunion is planned for July 26, 2025, at the Fox Lake Event Center. If you see relatives over the holidays, that would be a good time to remind them so they may make plans in advance.
