CEYLON — Santa Day in Ceylon will be at the old City Hall across from the post office from 2 to 4 p.m. today. Pictures with Santa, treat bags, juice and cookies will be available for all area children. This is free and sponsored by Helping Hands of Ceylon non-profit group and the many sponsors helping them, thank you.

Today there is a Cribbage Tournament at 1:30 p.m. at the Welcome Legion Hall for all area cribbage players. Registration cost is reimbursed as prizes. They play the second and third Saturdays from Oct. to spring. Join them for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

The Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have a service at 5:30 p.m tonight. They have evening services on the first and third Saturdays. They will have special Christmas Eve services at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. Area residents are welcome to join them for these events. They also have a Bible Class at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday. That Bible Class will not be held on Dec. 24 or Dec. 31 for the holidays. The next Bible class will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 7.

Area churches are offering special Christmas Eve services for area residents. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have a 7 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight service. Their partner church St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn will have a 5 p.m. family service and a 9 p.m. candlelight service. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have a Dec. 24 Special service at 5:30 p.m. Each Circle of Faith parish will have Christmas Eve communion services. St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have a 5 p.m. Christmas Eve service, Waverly Lutheran north of Welcome will have a 5:30 p.m. Service, Trinity Lutheran in Welcome will have a 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service and First Lutheran Church in Trimont will have a 7 p.m. Dec. 24 service. First Lutheran will have a choir Cantata at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn will have a 4 p.m. Christmas Eve service and an 8:30 a.m. Christmas Day service in Jackson.
