Burn site open on Dec. 4

There will be Red Cross blood drives on Dec. 2 at Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont and at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. A drive will be at Live Fit Gym on Dec. 13 and at the American Legion Hall on Dec. 20 in Fairmont. Call (800) RED-CROSS (800-733-2767), go online to www.redcrossblood.org, or text ‘BLOODAPP’ to 90999 to make an appointment and check on blood drives in your area. Blood is urgently needed so give it if you are able.
Condolences to the family of Marlin Miller who passed away recently. He will be missed.
The First Lutheran Church in Trimont will have its annual Carol Sing at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1.
The Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3 at City Hall. There is always a time for public comment and questions at the beginning of the meeting. To be on the regular agenda, contact City Hall at (507) 728-8740 before the meeting date.
The Welcome Burn Site is scheduled to be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 4. No garbage is allowed at the site. Wood only that is 6 inches or less in diameter is to be brought.
The Welcome State Bank will have an Open House for the Holidays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 4. Please bring non-perishable items for the local Food Shelf. The Bank and Borchardt Agency will have sandwiches, goodies, coffee and door prizes.
The Trimont Firemen’s Relief Association and Trimont Area Chamber of Commerce will have a Ham Bingo beginning at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.) on Dec. 5 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont.
Santa Day will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Hotdogs, craft fun, a coloring contest, free photos with Santa, and rides on a fire truck and police squad vehicle will be available. Contact Amanda Kleinschmidt and Kristie Cook for further information.
The Annual Deck the Halls in Sherburn High School will be on Dec. 7 and 8, sponsored by the Civic and Commerce Club. There will be a Vendor Fair on both days, a meal Saturday night, and a pancake feed Sunday morning from St. John’s Youth Group and Lions Club respectively. The tree decorating contest will be judged by those attending and prizes of local business gift cards will be given to the winners.
