Performance planned at Lake Belt Bar
CEYLON — A Cribbage Tournament will start at 1:15 p.m. with registration and play at 1:30 p.m. today, at the Welcome Legion Hall. Any cribbage player is welcome. Cribbage tournaments are Scheduled for the second and third Saturdays from November to the spring. Registration money is reimbursed as prizes. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have a communion service at 5:30 p.m. tonight. Area residents are welcome to join the service. They have services on the first and third Saturday evenings. They also have Bible classes at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday mornings.
The Circle of Faith parishes have services at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont and 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. The Trinity Church will host a Potluck lunch after services at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Belated Anniversary wishes to Larry and Barb Schmidt who celebrated their 71st Anniversary on Nov. 7. Congratulations, and our wish is for more anniversaries for them.
The Sherburn Theatre will have the movie ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ this weekend. Tonight’s showtime is 7 p.m. and Sunday’s showtime is 4 p.m. This film is a comedy with a message. Next weekend the theatre will host the MCW School Play ‘Anastasia’.
Every Thursday the Coffee Lovers group meets from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join them for fellowship. They will not meet on Thanksgiving Day.
The Red Cross will host a blood drive on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont. Blood is drastically needed now so give it if you are able.
A CREST Lunch and Learn Program is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. These educational programs are free to any senior citizen in Martin County. They appreciate a free-will donation for the lunch.

There will be a Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the Fleet and Farm Store in Fairmont. All proceeds will help the homeless pets at the Martin County Humane Society in Fairmont. All sorts of bakery items including some gluten-free items will be available.
Congratulations to the Helping Hands of Ceylon non-profit group on winning a grant from the FREA operation round-up to help with the Veterans project at the City Park in Ceylon. The group is planning a Christmas event for the children on Dec. 21 in the old city hall across from the post office. Watch for more details and volunteer to help.
The Sherburn and Welcome Police Department will host a ‘Shop with a Cop’ event in Dec. where children may shop for family members. Donations should be sent by Dec. 1 to the Welcome Fire Relief Association. The firefighters are volunteers and the donations will be processed correctly if addressed to them.
