Upcoming events at Lake Belt Bar
CEYLON — There will be a Cribbage Tournament at 1:30 p.m, today, Nov. 9, and next Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Area residents are welcome to join them. Registration is reimbursed as prizes.
The Circle of Faith Parishes reminds that they are in the November cycle. Services are at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, and at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome during November. First Lutheran will have a special Harvest Sunday Coffee hour after services this Sunday. Their Youth Group (grades 7-12) will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, with a supper provided.
The St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have services at 9:30 a.m on Sunday, Nov. 10. The LWML ladies group is collecting monetary donations for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf during November. The Food Shelf can buy foods at a bulk rate, and get more food per dollar. Donations can be put in the oversized Mite Box at the church. The partner congregation of St. Paul’s, St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn will have a Fall Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. The menu includes BBQ or pork sandwiches, various salads, and desserts. Proceeds will help a Seminary Student. Thrivent supplemental funds will apply. The ladies group LWML in Wilbert will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 to chose monthly projects for 2025. All members are encouraged to attend.
Congratulations to the candidates that won the election on Nov. 5 in Ceylon. Judith Perkins was elected Mayor, and Terry Muller and Tiffany Marlin were elected Council members.
Upcoming events include a Fish Fry on Nov. 15, Horse Races and Meat Raffle on Nov. 16, and Canaan James performing on Nov. 22, each at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill.
The Red Cross blood drive will be in Fairmont on Nov. 26 and 27 at the Best Western Hotel.
