In November cycle of church services

WELCOME — The Cribbage Tournament will be held tomorrow, Nov. 9, with registration at 1:15 p.m. and play at 1:30 p.m. at the Welcome Legion Hall. Area residents are welcome to play. The registration is paid out 100 percent in prizes. They will play on Nov. 16 at the same location and time.

Condolences to the family of Dennis Schwichtenberg who passed away recently. He will be missed by family and friends.

The Circle of Faith Parishes are reminded that they are in the November cycle of services with 9 a.m. services at First Lutheran Church in Trimont and 10:30 a.m. services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. This Sunday the First Lutheran Church will celebrate Harvest Sunday with coffee and goodies after the service. The Youth Group is reminded that they will meet on Nov. 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Trinity in Welcome with a meal provided for youth in Grades 7-12.

The Lake Promenaders will have their Potluck meal at 5 p.m. and lessons and dancing at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Shaw home at 804 West First Street in Welcome. Square Dancers and watchers are welcome.

The Burn Site in Welcome will be open from 8 a.m. to noon tomorrow, Nov. 9. Please bring wood only, no garbage or metal, and wood should be no larger than 6 inches in diameter.

The St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will have a Fall Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. The menu includes BBQ or pork sandwiches, various salads, and desserts.

The Burger Bash Fundraiser for the Summer Festival is tonight, Nov. 8, at the Welcome Legion. A Pheasant Fundraiser will be held simultaneously for the Veterans Day Dinner at the Vet facility in Luverne.

Monday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. The members of the Welcome Legion and Auxiliary will have a social hour beginning at 5 p.m. and a meal at 6 p.m. at the Welcome Legion Hall. All members are encouraged to attend.

The Welcome City Council changed the meeting date to Nov. 12 since their usual meeting date was election day. They meet at the City Hall at 6 p.m. Then the next meeting will be Nov. 19 which is their usual meeting date.

Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution is planned for Nov. 18 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn from 5:30 to 7 p.m. There is no residential or income requirement and a trunkful of groceries is available for $25. If anyone has boxes from previous distribution events they may be given to the volunteers. There is usually a list of items to be given on Facebook prior to the date.

The Red Cross Blood Drive will be on Nov. 26 and 27 at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont. Blood is urgently needed now so give it if you are able. Thank you.
