WELLS– On Wednesday the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the victim of a homicide in Wells on Nov. 1.

According to the release, the victim has been identified as Miguel Angel Chavez-Lopez, a 54-year-old male of Albert Lea. His body was found at a rural property located in the 1400 section of 540th avenue in rural Wells.

Chief Deputy Scott Adams of the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office said they do not have any suspects at this time; however, he also said, “there is not a current threat to the public.”

Adams said the manner of death is still confirmed as a homicide and that the department, in conjunction with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) will provide updates as they have them.
