Truman High School’s after-prom party sub sandwich fundraiser is going on now through today. Subs are $6 each or 10 for $55. Subs are made on 12″ poor boy buns from Schmidt’s Bakery and are layered with ham, turkey, and white and yellow American cheese. Contact a THS senior, junior, or sophomore, or contact Zanna Sill at 507-384-8471 to place an order. Subs should be picked up from the school cafeteria on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd from 3:30 – 6 p.m. Make checks payable to: Truman After Prom.
A farmers’ market will be held 8-11 a.m. Saturday, at Graf Park in Truman. Vendors can be anyone selling homemade or homegrown items of any variety: vegetables, canned or baked goods, woodworking, sewing, soap making, craft projects, the list is endless. The Truman Active Living farmers market tokens for use at the Truman farmers market and Granada Gardens market in Truman for ages 4-12 and senior citizens are available from Pat at the farmers’ market.
The American Red Cross blood drive will be in Truman from 12 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7. It will be held at the Truman Community Building. The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will make a stop at the Truman High School 401 E 1st St. S from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. The bloodmobile will be set up in the elementary activity room. October is National Pork Month. Thank you, Pork Producers, for all you do. It is also cosmetology month. Thank you to all the amazing stylists in our lives.
Fire won’t wait so plan your escape during fire prevention week, Oct. 6-12. Everyone needs to be prepared in advance so that they know what to do when the smoke alarm sounds. Have a plan for everyone in the home. Also, make sure you have a visible house number.
