New principal to lead Martin Luther
NORTHROP — Martin Luther High School in Northrop has welcomed a new principal to lead the team at the Christian 7-12 school.
David Stuckwisch is an outgoing, caring individual who seeks to help students through spiritual and academic journeys during their education at MLHS.
Stuckwisch is a graduate of Concordia University of Texas and has a Director of Christian Education degree. After he graduated, he married his wife and began a new journey with involvement in education.
Stuckwisch, who is originally from Arkansas, moved to Minnesota from Nevada where he worked as a Lutheran teacher. He believes he received a calling from God to direct him toward another career, which prompted him to take the role of principal in the small town, sending his family toward the north of the country.
As he’s also done public ministries in Wisconsin, Stuckwischa was mildly accustomed to the Midwest lifestyle. However, as his family is adapting to the life of a new state, they are enjoying every ounce of the smaller town.
“We love the small-town atmosphere,” he said with a smile.
In his new role, Stuckwisch is looking forward to relationship building, making students feel safe and everyone having a sense of belonging.
“I want to make sure students aren’t lost in the crowd, and they aren’t just a number,” Stuckwisch said.
The former principal, Paul Steinhaus, as well as staff at Martin Luther, have received him well since he officially began his duties on July 1st.
“It’s been a smooth transition,” Stuckwisch said with a laugh.
As the summer progresses, Stuckwisch will oversee summer endeavors and plans before the school year begins, such as decorating and other progressive ideas. When the fall season arrives and students return, Stuckwisch will oversee productive and caring learning environments, student activities, curriculum and school operations.
In his career, Stuckwisch values faith in Jesus Christ, faith-based academics and his students developing spiritually.
Martin Luther High School of Northrop aims to provide their students and families with nurturing educational atmospheres that invite them to grow academically and in the eyes of the Lord. MLHS offers several programs and encourages extracurriculars. The school welcomes new students in grades 7-12.
