THS Homecoming this Friday

Congratulations to King Carter Brudelie and Queen Ashlyn Cook as our 2023 Truman High School coronation recipients.

Friday, Sept. 15, is Homecoming for THS. Wear your Jaguar clothing or a lot of black/purple clothing. The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed at 2:15 p.m. by the pep fest and class skits to be held at the football field. All parents and community are invited to attend. At 7 p.m., it’s time to cheer on the Jaguars at the football game as they play Nicollet. Following the game, a dance/game party for 7th to 12th grade students will be held in the THS gym.

Truman Pride is hosting a homecoming tailgate meal starting 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15. Come to the concession to enjoy pulled pork, barbecues, burgers, hotdogs and much more.

A farmers’ market will be held 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Graf Park in Truman. Vendors can be anyone selling homemade or homegrown items of any variety: vegetables, canned or baked goods, woodworking, sewing, soap making, craft projects, the list is endless. Second Harvest Heartland, nutrition assistance program for seniors, will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20. Come to Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman to pick up your box. Eligibility is based on age, 60 years and up, household size and income. Pre-register at 1-800-365-0270.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at the Truman Municipal Building. These meetings are open to the public.

If you are interested in being on the community education advisory board, please contact Wendy Besel at beselw@truman.k12.mn.us. The advisory board meets 3 times a year to brainstorm ideas which enhance the community education program for the Truman community. Please consider getting involved.

Truman Days organizers seek someone to head up the Little Mr. and Ms. Truman Pageant for the celebration in 2024, Truman’s 125th birthday. Information from past pageants is available to help with planning. Those interested should contact Theresa at (507) 236-3455.
