Kiwanis to meet Wednesday

Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Linda Maday of South Central MN Quilts for Veterans. ER Kiwanis will be hearing about Linda’s mission of providing Quilts to Martin County Veterans. The public is invited to attend.

Free testers at Recovery in Motion

Recovery in Motion in Fairmont will offer free-of-charge lifesaving Narcan nasal spray and fentanyl test strips to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2, at 1100 Indus Street in Fairmont. Without the test strips, visitors can come and learn more about Recovery in Motion and its mission.

Chubb House for Spring Tea

The Historic Chubb House in Fairmont will have its annual Spring Tea event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Enjoy tea, coffee, dainty sandwiches, pastries, and cookies. A suggested donation of $15 is appreciated to assist with maintaining the house. Bring your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to the Chubb House. Dressing in period costume is encouraged.

CREST to host pillow cleaning

CREST will host the Carlson Pillow Cleaning Service from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, in the upper level of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Fairmont. Pillows will be fluffed, cleaned, deodorized, and sanitized while you wait, or you may come back to pick them up later in the day. You will receive new ticking for your pillows, and they will be made cleaner than new for a little more than the cost of the pillow. Custom-made new pillows and down comforters will be available for sale as well. All proceeds from this event will benefit CREST as they strive to enhance the quality of life for those they serve in Martin County. Tech skills class with Nickie Welsh

Social Club Simple instructor Nickie Welsh will teach technology essential skills from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, in a Zoom meeting. This class is designed to equip students with the critical tech skills needed for everyday life. Registration is required, costs $25, closes on May 2, and can be completed on the CER webstore. Acupressure class with Janice Novak

Janice Novak will teach acupressure from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5, in a Zoom meeting. Acupressure is an ancient healing art and self-help tool. It can offer relief without side effects and help you feel your best. Along with the specific points to help relieve stress, insomnia, anxiety, irritability, and even weight gain, learn the Nine Master Pressure Points, which are the most helpful and most frequently prescribed to help and assist every system in the body. Aging Well class with Janice Novak

Janice Novak will teach a class about aging well from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6. Research has shown us that you can peel years off your bio age. In this workshop, students will learn simple, scientifically proven things you can do right now to decrease your body age. Students will learn facial acupressure points to help erase years from your face. Fee: $29. Registration is required, costs $29, closes May 2, and can be completed on the CER webstore.
