Kiwanis to meet Wednesday

Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Laura Odgren and Emily Fett. ER Kiwanis is very excited to hear from Emily and Laura about their book discussion program centered around the book “The Anxious Generation”. In this eye-opening book, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt uncovers the forces shaping today’s generation and offers a roadmap for fostering a healthier, freer childhood.

Eagles Club for Friday karaoke

Fairmont Eagles Aerie 3394 will have karaoke at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at the Eagles Club building. Karaoke hosts vary per week. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. For additional information, visit the official Fairmont Eagles Club Facebook page.

Free testers at Recovery in Motion

Recovery in Motion in Fairmont will offer free-of-charge lifesaving Narcan nasal spray and fentanyl test strips to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at 1100 Indus Street in Fairmont. Without the test strips, visitors can come and learn more about Recovery in Motion and its mission.

Ruby’s Pantry East Chain distribution

Ruby’s Pantry will have a drive-through food distribution from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church. You are also asked to clean out the trunk of your vehicle before you come. There are no income or residency guidelines. Ruby’s Pantry is funded by the $25 cash donation per participant for operational costs, and they receive an abundance of food. IHD Spring and Craft Vendor Show

The Interlaken Heritage Days Spring Craft & Vendor Show will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Fairmont Armory. There will be over 35 local crafters, confectioners, and direct sale vendors. It is a great time to find one-of-a-kind gifts for Mother’s Day, baby showers, weddings, bridal showers, and unique things for your home.
