Kiwanis to meet Wednesday

The Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speakers of the meeting will be Brian Grensteiner, Maggie Eisenmenger, and Nyla Anderson of the PBIS Ambassador program. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a tiered framework that supports students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health based on evidence. Fairmont Elementary is one of six schools in Minn. to be selected for the state’s PBIS Ambassador Schools program. ER Kiwanis is very excited to learn about the PBIS Ambassador Program at Fairmont Elementary School. The public is invited to attend.

Cuddle buddies huddle at the library

Cuddle Buddies will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. This program is for children ages birth to zero and an adult caregiver. Water and boat and safety at the library

The Water and Boat Safety program will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Eric Schettler of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be present to share everything to know before the boating season begins. There is no cost to attend and no need to register. Overcome Carb Cravings with Janice Novak

Janice Novak will teach a carbohydrate-combating class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 7, in a Zoom meeting. In this workshop, the class will discuss a two-week plan to stop cravings, boost weight loss, and balance insulin levels. Overcoming carb cravings is not a matter of willpower but a matter of biology. Learn how to stop the vicious cycle of food cravings and weight gain.
