Red Rock to display student artwork
The Red Rock Center for the Arts will showcase artwork created by selected high school students from Blue Earth Area, Fairmont, Granada-Huntley-East Chain, North Union, Martin Luther, Martin County West, and Truman from Tuesday, March 25, to Wednesday, April 2. Everyone is invited to a community open house and reception from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26. On Thursday, April 3 morning, the students and teacher will participate in a workshop and lunch at the Red Rock Center.
Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House
The historic Chubb House in Fairmont is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 26 for coffee and more. Stop in to learn more about the first and only brick home in Martin County, and the man who built it in 1867 for his family; Dr. Orville P. Chubb. Get acquainted with Fairmont’s rich history and the volunteers who have worked hard to preserve this building. MN Twins History at the Fairmont Library
A program about the history of the Minnesota Twins will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Gear up for America’s pastime with this presentation (with lots of memorabilia) by Steven Minar. There is no cost to attend, and pre-registration is not required for the program. Color Confidence with Peggy White
The Color Confidence class will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 3 at the Southern Minn. Educational Campus (SMEC) in Fairmont, taught by Peggy White. Students will leave knowing dominant color characteristics, best hues of color including neutrals, ‘go to’ colors for shoes and handbags, best shades of cosmetics, your best metallics and color jewelry options, and more. Optional purchase of digital and deck color collections, color guide and makeup will be available at varying prices the night of the class. The class length will depend on the number of participants. Acupressure with Janice Novak
Janice Novak will teach an acupressure class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 31 in a Zoom meeting. Acupressure is a healing technique that works with how energy flows through your body. Just as you have blood that flows through vessels, you have energy that flows through pathways called meridians. Acupressure involves pressing or massaging key points on the bod to stimulate energy flow which can offer great relief with no side effects. The class will focus on the points that relieve and prevent migraines and headaches as well as nausea and vertigo.
