Kiwanis to meet Wednesday
Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Minilik Mersha of Hometown Place. ER Kiwanis is looking forward to hearing about the renovation of the former Bell Motel and the establishment of Hometown Place. The public is invited to attend.
Cancer Support Group for March meeting
The Lutz Cancer Center in Fairmont will offer a Cancer Support Group at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont. A free-will offering will be accepted. The Lutz Cancer Center in Fairmont provides a monthly support group for patients from any community that has received a cancer diagnosis at any point in their life. The support group offers compassionate, cancer-related education and support provided by different guest speakers in a variety of key roles. Attendees may share experiences and learn about coping with the challenges of cancer. Caregivers are welcome to attend. The Cancer Support Group will meet on the first Tuesday of each month through Dec. 5.
Eagles Club for Friday karaoke
Fairmont Eagles Aerie 3394 will have karaoke at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at the Eagles Club building. Karaoke hosts vary per week. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. For additional information, visit the official Fairmont Eagles Club Facebook page.
Free testers at Recovery in Motion
Recovery in Motion in Fairmont will offer free-of-charge lifesaving Narcan nasal spray and fentanyl test strips to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at 1100 Indus Street in Fairmont. Visitors can learn more about Recovery in Motion and its mission without the test strips.
East Chain Church hosts coffee party
The East Chain United Methodist church will host the Monthly Community Coffee Party from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. The menu includes rolls, treats, coffee, tea, and juice. A free-will offering will be accepted.
“Build It” at the Fairmont Library
Join the Martin County Library in Fairmont from 10:30 am to 12 noon on Saturday, March 8. Participants will enjoy building and STEM challenges for kids of all ages. Fine Arts and Science Festival at MLHS
The Region IV Lutheran Elementary Schools Fine Arts and Science Festival will be held at 8 a.m. on March 8 at the Martin Luther High School in Northrop on Saturday, March 8. Students from seven schools are participating. Individual performances begin first. Large group music performances will be held following the judging completion. Guests are welcome to join in celebrating the God-given talents of our students in art, music, science, creative writing, and speech. Concessions will be available. The event is free and open to the public.
Huntley Lasagna dinner postponed
The Community Covenant Church in Huntley has postponed its March 5 event and will serve dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12. The menu includes lasagna, garlic bread, lettuce salad, and a dessert.
