Play Café brewing at the library
Play Café will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. The program is for children ages zero to five and their adult caregiver(s). There is no cost to attend and pre-registration is not required for Play Café. The program will be held every Tuesday through April 29. 3M retirees for Tuesday meal
3M retirees will gather for lunch at noon on Tuesday, March 4 at the Green Mill restaurant in Fairmont.
American Legion to meet Tuesday
The Fairmont American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36 will meet at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4 at 300 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. All members and anyone interested in the Auxiliary are encouraged to attend.
Cancer Support Group for March meeting
The Lutz Cancer Center in Fairmont will offer a Cancer Support Group at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont. A free-will offering will be accepted. The Lutz Cancer Center in Fairmont provides a monthly support group for patients from any community that has received a cancer diagnosis at any point in their life. The support group offers compassionate, cancer-related education and support provided by different guest speakers in a variety of key roles. Attendees may share experiences and learn about coping with the challenges of cancer. Caregivers are welcome to attend. The Cancer Support Group will meet on the first Tuesday of each month through Dec. 5.
Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House
The historic Chubb House in Fairmont is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 5 for coffee and more. Stop in to learn more about the first and only brick home in Martin County, and the man who built it in 1867 for his family; Dr. Orville P. Chubb. Get acquainted with Fairmont’s rich history and the volunteers who have worked hard to preserve this building. Huntley Church to host lasagna dinner
The Community Covenant Church in Huntley will serve dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. The menu includes lasagna, garlic bread, lettuce salad, and a dessert.
Cuddle Buddies to huddle Thursday
Join the Martin County Library in Fairmont for Cuddle Buddies at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6. This program is for children ages birth to two and their adult caregiver(s). Enjoy stories and playtime. There is no cost to attend pre-registration is not required for Cuddle Buddies. The additional date is April 3. Acupressure with Janice Novak
Janice Novak will teach acupressure for sinus relief, headaches and more at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 10 in a Zoom meeting. Acupressure is an ancient, Eastern healing technique that involves pressing or kneading key points on the body to release energy blockages and simulate energy flow through pathways called meridians. Continual sinus problems have become epidemic in both children and adults. Registration is required, costs $29, closes March 6, and can be completed on the CER webstore.
