Sherburn Lions Club for weekend breakfast
The Sherburn Lions Club will have its Lion’s Pancake Breakfast event from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, at the Martin County West High School in Sherburn. A free-will donation si encouraged. Proceeds from the event will help fund the Sherburn Holiday Festival Parade. The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and beverages. The Lions will accept old glasses and hearing aid donations.
Girls Swish Squad
Girls’ basketball classes will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturdays from March 8 to March 29 at the Five Lakes Gym in the Fairmont Elementary School. The program is for children in Grades 1 to 3 and is designed to introduce young athletes to the exciting world of basketball while focusing on skill development and teamwork. This class is perfect for beginners, helping players build confidence and learn the fundamentals of the game in a fun, supportive environment. The first half of each class will focus on teaching and developing essential basketball skills. The second half of the class will be dedicated to applying the skills learned in a fun, low-pressure game seƫng. Players will be divided into teams and participate in scrimmages allowing for lots of touches on the ball and opportunities to practice offense and defense. Instructors will guide the game, offering feedback and reinforcing the importance of teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship.
