Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House

The historic Chubb House in Fairmont is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays for coffee and more. Stop in to learn more about the first and only brick home in Martin County, and the man who built it in 1867 for his family; Dr. Orville P. Chubb. Get acquainted with Fairmont’s rich history and the volunteers who have worked hard to preserve this building. Kiwanis to meet

Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speakers of the meeting will be Greater Plaza Area Council Sara Cyphers, Steve Hawkins and Jeff Rouse. ER Kiwanis looks forward to hearing about the Greater Plaza Area Council, formally The Downtown Association, and their plans for Fairmont Downtown. The public is invited to attend.

CGA presents solar energy benefits

Clean Grid Alliance (CGA) will be presenting alongside solar energy expert Matt Boor and Nathan Dull of the Minn. Land and Liberty Coalition, on the benefits of solar energy to our communities from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 at the Fox Lake Event Center in Sherburn. The educational event is called Solar 101 and is part of CGA’s Midwest 101 Series. After the presentation, CGA will facilitate a Q&A with the audience. The event is free and open to the public. Eagles Club for Friday karaoke

Fairmont Eagles Aerie 3394 will have karaoke at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Eagles Club building. Karaoke hosts vary per week. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. For additional information, visit the official Fairmont Eagles Club Facebook page.

Free testers at Recovery in Motion

Recovery in Motion in Fairmont will offer free-of-charge lifesaving Narcan nasal spray and fentanyl test strips to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28 at 1100 Indus Street in Fairmont. Without the test strips, visitors can learn more about Recovery in Motion and its mission.

MLHS to have Step UP Day

All students are invited to Grade 5 and 6 Step UP Day from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. There will be classroom tours, a pizza lunch, and the MLHS Talent Show.
