Fairmont Service Club to meet on Tuesday
The Fairmont Service Club will hold its weekly meeting at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont. The featured speaker will be Runway for Action manager Diana Bradley. Teen/Tween After Hours at the Fairmont Library
Join the Martin County Library in Fairmont from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 for a teen and tween after-hours event. Enjoy activities, food, and fun for ages 10 and up. Sweater Paws Workshop at FES
A “Sweaters Paws Workshop” after-school art class will be held from 3:15 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 11 and 18 at Room 160 in the Fairmont Elementary School. This program is for children in Grades 3 to 6. Combining cardboard crafting with the fun of working with colorful yarn to create their own cute “kitty”. This class will engage their imagination and learn about textures, and basic weaving techniques. Whether they make striped sweaters or fluffy coats, each kitty will be as unique as the student who made it. Baton Twirling at FES
A level two baton-twirling class will be held from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 6 at the Boost Up Room in the Fairmont Elementary School. This course is for those who have completed level one baton twirling, are proficient with the basics, and are ready to move on to more challenging skills. Batons will be provided for use if you do not have your own. For an additional fee of $25, participants can purchase a baton to take home for practice. The instructor will set up additional twirl times to practice. Registration is required, instructional fee costs $24, closes Feb. 25, and can be completed on the CER webstore. Grace Miller, Macy Berkness, Jennifer Heckman, Kelly Lopau, Madison Maakestad, Osvaldo Morales, Noah Nelson, Max Poetter, Rayah Quiring, Lathon Rogge, Cassidy Schultz, Courtney Steuber of Fairmont, Caitlin Whitehead of Sherburn, Autumn Revland of Dunnell, Andrew Geistfeld and Tegan Roskop of Truman, Lauren Borchardt, Chantel Moeller, and Lillian Smart of Welcome were named to the Mankato State University Honor’s List. Jaya Johnson, Alyse Schwebke, Jamie Klug of Fairmont, Ayla Stecher of Trimont, and Jayden Smith of Truman were named to the Mankato State University High Honors List. To qualify for academic honors, undergraduate students must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours for the semester. Among 4,404 students, a total of 1,354 students qualified for the High Honor List by achieving a 4.0 straight “A” average, while 3,050 students earned a 3.5 to 3.99 average to qualify for the Honor List.
