Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House

The historic Chubb House in Fairmont will be open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Feb. 5 for coffee and more. Stop in to learn more about the first and only brick home in Martin County, and the man who built it in 1867 for his family; Dr. Orville P. Chubb. Get acquainted with Fairmont’s rich history and the volunteers who have worked hard to preserve this building. Super Bowl fundraiser at Pizza Hut

The Fairmont Area Human Rights Organization will hold a pre-Super Bowl fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Pizza Hut in Blue Earth. Twenty percent of proceeds will benefit the organization and raise money for Disability Day at the Martin County Fair, as well as additional humanitarian efforts.

Garden Club to meet on Wednesday

The City of Lakes Garden Club will meet at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 2557 Stella Street in Fairmont. Please be prepared to pay Annual Membership dues if not already. The 2025 presentation theme is “Methods of Gardening” and/or “Visitors to the Garden”. There will be a business meeting followed by an informative presentation on Visitors to the Garden, “Benefits of Toads in the Garden”, including a demonstration on how to make a Toad House and invite them to stay. Gardeners of all skill levels are always welcome.

Cuddle Buddies to ‘huddle’ at library

Join the Martin County Library in Fairmont for Cuddle Buddies at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6. This program is for children ages birth to two and an adult caregiver. Stories and playtime will be at the event. There is no cost to attend and pre-registration is not required. Additional dates are March 6 and April 3. Library ‘pieces together’ puzzle race

Put together a team of four adults and join the race The great puzzle race will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6. See which team can complete their matching puzzle with the fastest time! Metabolism-boosting with Janice Novak

Janice Novak will teach a metabolism-boosting class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10 in a Zoom meeting. In this class, participants will learn 20 simple things they can do to boost metabolism. Registration is required, costs $29, closes Feb. 6, and can be completed on the CER webstore.
