Empower to host Cosmic Bowling

Martin County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (MCSAP)/Empower will have a Cosmic Bowling event from 7:40 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Bowlmor Lanes bowling alley in Fairmont. Pizza, soda, bowling, and door prizes will be available. This event is for students in Grades 7 to 12 in Martin County. Admission is $6 per student. Class of 1960 to lunch

The Fairmont High School Class of 1960, spouses and friends will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont.

Uecker makes Carthage Dean’s List

Carthage College recognizes Elizabeth Uecker from Blue Earth for their academic achievement and for being named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List.

Fairmont natives on NWC Dean’s List

Kynlie Anderson* and Tabitha Thatcher*, students at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, earned a spot on the Academic Dean’s List for the fall 2024 semester. Anderson* is a sophomore majoring in nursing from Fairmont. Thatcher* is a senior majoring in social enterprise from Fairmont. Both earned GPAs of 3.75 or higher, which acknowledges them as Collegiate Scholars, designated with an asterisk.
