Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House
The historic Chubb House in Fairmont is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays for coffee time and more. Stop in to learn more about the first and only brick home in Martin County, and the man who built it in 1867 for his family; Dr. Orville P. Chubb. Get acquainted with Fairmont’s rich history and the volunteers who have worked hard to preserve this building. Garden Club to gather on Wednesday
City of Lakes Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, in Room 117 at Fairmont United Methodist Church. Enter through the Second Street door under the canopy. The club meets on the first Wednesday of each month. The host for the month may choose the location and time for the meeting. All gardeners of all skills are welcome.
Class of ’61 to reunite for lunch
The Fairmont High School graduating class of 1961 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Pizza Ranch buffet restaurant in Fairmont.
Human Rights Committee welcomes Hernes to speak
The Human Rights Committee of Martin County will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Fairmont. Mark Hernes from Fairmont Area Schools will be our guest speaker. The group strives to encourage respect and maintain dignity for all Martin County residents. All are welcome to attend.
Five Keys to Health presentation at Fairmont Library
Join the Martin County Library in Fairmont at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9. Dr. Shieber, a local chiropractor, will speak about the five keys to healthy living. Pokemon Card Club at Fairmont Library
Join us on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. for an all-ages Pokemon Card Club at the Fairmont Library! Bring your cards or borrow some of ours! The club meets on Jan. 9, 16, 23, and 30. There is no cost to attend, and no registration is needed.
CER strength-building with Janice Novak
Learn how to strengthen your arms, back, shoulders, chest, hips, glutes, and thighs using resistance bands in a workshop, held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 in a Zoom meeting, taught by Janice Novak. Stronger muscles can boost metabolism, maintain or increase bone density, make daily tasks easier, and help you age with quality and grace. Participants can learn tips and techniques to improve overall health and wellness. You will need a resistance band for class. Registration is required, costs $29, closes Jan. 9, and can be done on the CER webstore.
