Kiwanis welcomes Ling for Wednesday’s meet

Fairmont Early Risers Kiwanis will meet for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A 6:50 a.m. meeting will follow. April Ling will be the featured speaker of the hour. She will share information regarding her recent mission trips to Cape Town, South Africa, and Durban. The public is invited to join the group for breakfast and hear what April says.

Lefse Making Demonstrations at Area Libraries

Join a lefse-making demonstration at three Martin County Library locations: Thursday, at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the Fairmont Library; at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 at the Sherburn Library, and at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Truman Library. Megan Heller will demonstrate how to make lefse and provide a sample. There is no cost to attend this event and no registration is necessary. Holiday Storytime at the Fairmont Library

Join Martin County Library in Fairmont at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. This event is geared towards kids ages birth to five and their adult caregivers. Celebrate the holiday season with stories, activities, and more. There is no cost to attend this event and registration is not required. Meal and pie sale at St. John’s

A ninth annual beef commercial meal will be from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, in the basement of St. John’s Antrim Church in Truman. Takeout orders will be available. Pre-orders for whole-baked pies must be completed by Thursday, Dec. 5. Orders can be made by calling (507) 236-7292. Flavors include apple, pecan, cherry, blueberry, and a new addition peanut butter silk. Pies can be picked on the day of the meal. Additionally, Sunday School will host a bake sale. A free-will donation for the event is encouraged.

Craft and Vendor Show this weekend

Shop small this holiday season at the Interlaken Heritage Days Holiday Craft & Vendor Show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Fairmont Armory. With 40 direct sales vendors, handcrafters, and confectioners in one spot, guests can find that one-of-a-kind gift for everyone on their list. The IHD committee will also serve breakfast and lunch for purchase as part of our ongoing fundraising efforts. This event is free to attend. Holiday Kidcasso at RRC

Join the Red Rock Center for the Arts for the Kidcasso Holiday Party from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. Participants can get creative with arts and crafts, games, cookie decorating, and more. Kids of all ages are welcome with proper caregiver supervision. Free-will donations are appreciated.
