Kiwanis to have Wednesday meeting

Fairmont Early Risers Kiwanis will meet for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at The Ranch restaurant. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The featured speaker will be Edward Paschke, Ward 3, City Council Candidate. The public is invited to join the group for breakfast and hear from Paschke.

Halloween at the Library

The Martin County Library in Fairmont will host a Halloween party from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. Come dressed in Halloween costumes and enjoy a variety of not-so-spooky activities and crafts at the library. There is no fee to attend and pre-registration is not required. Posture class by Novak

CER invites Janice Novak to teach posture and osteoporosis in her new fitness workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 on Zoom. Participants will learn techniques to improve posture and stand straighter. The class will perform exercises to help flatten the upper back, unround shoulders, and flatten the midsection, and learn how to reduce the risk of osteoporosis and how to regain bone mass. Class discussion will cover the latest research findings on nutrition, minerals, and trace minerals needed for bone health; foods that help and harm your bones, and more. Participants are advised to wear loose, comfortable clothing, and will need a resistance band or tube for some exercises. Registration is required, costs $29 per attendant, and closes on Thursday, Oct. 31.
