Red Rock to host Saturday arts event
Red Rock Center for the Arts to host KIDCASSO, an open art studio experience for kids, from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. Come and make some fun arts and crafts. $5 materials fee. No registration required.
Poppe reunion Sunday in Fairmont
The annual Poppe Family Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 10, at Heritage Acres in Fairmont. A potluck meal will begin at noon with fellowship and music to follow. Please bring a dish to pass and your own plates and utensils. Coffee and water will be provided. All family members are encouraged to attend.
Sportsman Club sets shooting event
East Chain Sportsman’s Club will hold a trap shoot event beginning noon Sunday, Sept. 10, at the club located a half-mile north of East Chain. They will be shooting practice rounds, then 16-yard and 25-yard Oakley’s and Boondocks. The grill will be on all day. For more information, contact Moby at (507) 236-4189. Everyone is welcome.
Red Rock to hold Sunday retirement presentation
A retirement party for Sue Eisenmenger, Executive Director of STEP Inc., will be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Red Rock Center, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. A retirement presentation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and offer best wishes on her retirement.
Prairie Star Quilters to hold meeting
Prairie Star Quilt Guild will hold its next meeting Monday, Sept. 11, at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., Fairmont. They will begin making up kits for veteran’s quilts at 9 a.m. Bring your rulers, rotary cutters and a sack lunch. The quilt board will meet at 12:30 p.m., followed by a general membership meeting at 1:30 p.m. with Sew and Share to follow the meeting. Lakes Foundation plans Monday meeting
The Fairmont Lakes Foundation Inc will hold their 2023 annual meeting Monday, Sept. 11, in the shelter house at Gomsrud Park, Fairmont. A social time will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the meeting. Jeff Forester, Executive Director of Minnesota Lakes and Rivers, will speak, along with a brief board update. Pizza and beverages will be provided, and a kayak will be given away as a door prize.
