Evolution:Cave Painting,chisel/rock,stick/clay,ink/sheepskin,ink/paper,typewriter, computer,Ipods. It's about time the school systems evolve in what and how it teaches. Cursive Writing should be an alternative, just like calligraphy. Every kid should be proficient on using the keyboard. I hope this is only the beginning for educating our children. For the past 40 years, too many so called HS educated people have failed and did not take advantage of a free education. They now work low paying jobs or on a govt subsidy. 25% of MN kids are not graduating from HS (stat in Star Trib). I am not blaming the teachers, its the old educating system.

It is really too bad that no one instilled those hard working qualities in the today's youth.

Does it really matter if students learn cursive? No! What students need to be taught these days is how to work, seems as though the younger generation wants everything handed to them!!
