LONGWOOD, Fla. - A Service of Remembrance for Jeffery Lee Hanson, 54, of Longwood, Fla., formerly of Odin, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Odin, Minn., with Pastor Carla Reierson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Jeff was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Altamonte Hospital in Altamonte, Fla. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont, Minn., and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Jeffery Lee Hanson was born Aug. 13, 1959, in Fairmont, Minn., son of Kenneth and Dolores (Dawson) Hanson. Jeff received Holy Baptism and was confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Odin, Minn. He attended Odin Elementary School and was a 1977 graduate of Butterfield-Odin High School, where he participated in football and wrestling. He then attended Jackson Vocational School for telephone technician. After graduation, Jeff accepted a job with United Telephone Company in DeWitt, Iowa, where he met and married Cheryl Pietrass and their son, Jesse Lee Hanson, was born. His job with United Telephone Company took Jeff and his family to Altamonte Springs, Fla., where he received his 30 year anniversary award. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, dancing, dice and board games with friends, watching TV shows of yesteryear, and time spent with Snoopy, their dog. Jeff enjoyed his visits back to Odin, Minn. for family and class reunions, cousin weekends, the Butterfield Threshing Bee and visits with family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Hanson of Longwood, Fla.; parents, Kenneth and Dolores Hanson of Odin, Minn.; siblings, spouse and children: Cindy (Mark) Niederman of San Diego, Calif.; Charnelle (Darrell) Goring, Zach (Jill), Lucas (Sarah) and families of Apple Valley, Minn.; Bryan (Linda) Hanson, Garrett and Ryan of Winter, Wis., and Mark (Sharon) Hanson, Cole and Kaitlyn of Hendricks, Minn.
Jeff was preceded in death by infant brother, Thomas Allen; grandparents, Walter and Geneva Dawson, Howard and Julia Hanson; and other relatives.
