SHERBURN - The Red, White and Brew Review, sponsored by Sherburn Area Task Force, will be held 6 p.m. Friday at Sherburn Fire Hall.
This event, which raises money for area community projects, will feature professional and amateur brewers providing beer and wine samples.
There also will be crafts, antiques and music to enjoy.
Several food choices will be available, including pork chop on a stick and smoked pulled pork sandwiches; grilled burgers, brats and chips; an Asian pork wrap with slaw and rice; and onion rings and cheese balls.
Tickets may be purchased in advance or the evening of the event. The doors for ticket sales will open at 5 p.m.
Martin County West swim team, which includes swimmers from Dunnell, Fairmont, Sherburn and Trimont, will host its last meet of the season 9 a.m. Saturday at Sherburn's indoor swimming pool.
Blue Earth and Madelia also will be competing.
The girls swim team has had a successful first season, and they encourage anyone whose interested to attend the swim meet and enjoy the competition.
Refreshments will be available.
Peter Hoh, a teacher with the Science Museum of Minnesota, will conduct a workshop 2 p.m. today at Sherburn Community Hall. He uses Lego toys to teach about engineering and mechanics. This program is free and open to the public.
St. John's Lutheran Church of Sherburn will host "coffee hours" from 8:30-10 a.m. each Tuesday during August. Everyone is welcome to attend.
An open house to honor Ronnie Studer on her 90th birthday will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Sherburn American Legion. Everyone is invited to come and help Ronnie celebrate her special day.

The family of Ferne Nelson will host an open house to celebrate Ferne's 100th birthday 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Dunnell Community Hall. All friends and relatives are invited to come out and honor Ferne on her 100th year.

The hours at the Sherburn office are from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at the Trimont office from 7:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30-4 p.m.
