TRIMONT - The annual Trimont FunFest will begin Friday, and feature a three-day carnival, music, food and fun.
Three bands will perform at Anderson Park on the afternoon of July 12, each with a local affiliation.
"From noon to 1 p.m., we have the local group 'MillenniuM' performing," said Cara Sinn, a member of the Trimont FunFest committee. "After the parade, the band 'Attitude' will perform from 4-6 p.m. Paul Lillevold is a member of that group, and after their performance, they will be introducing a band from Seattle that his son, Jeff Lillevold is in."
Morrison Boomer began with Jeff Lillevold and Jacob Fuller of Trimont relocating to Seattle, Wash., and playing at Pike Place Market for the past five years.
"It's hard to describe the sound of their music, but when I went on their website, I really liked it," Sinn said.
Events for FunFest technically begin Monday with the Medallion hunt, with daily clues being posted at Anderson Park shelter house. There also are still tickets available for carnival wristbands that are good for all three days of the FunFest.
"Ticket sales always pick up at the last minute," Sinn said. "But last year, people who waited until the last minute were out of luck."
Most of the FunFest Activities kick off at 5 p.m. Friday with the opening of the carnival, and the beer garden opening by the Rail Yard Bar & Grill.
