FORT DODGE, Iowa - The North Union Warriors softball team finished with two wins and two losses at the Fort Dodge Invite on Saturday in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Bishop Heelan handed the Warriors an 8-7 six-inning loss in the tournament opener, before North Union bounced back for the 5-3 win over Webster City in the second game on Friday.
North Union then opened up Day 2 on Saturday with a 7-0 loss to BCLUW before beating Emmetsburg 5-0 in the second game.
Dena Looft had a stellar tournament, starting out going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in the first game against Bishop Heelan.
Autumn Boland, Sarah Rolling and Peyton Oleson each went 2-for-4 in the game, with Rolling plating three RBIs and smacking a double.
Boland also blasted a double, scoring three runs and driving in two RBIs.
Kyarsten Mullen went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Oleson pitched all six innings, allowing eight runs - four earned - on five hits and striking out two to absorb the loss.
Oleson then came back and got the win during the second game on Friday. Oleson pitched seven innings, allowing three runs - two earned - on four hits, striking out nine and walking two to earn the win over Webster City.
Rolling blasted a pair of doubles, finishing 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Mullen went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Boland was the lone Warrior to reach first base during BCLUW's 7-0 six-inning victory during the first game on Saturday.
Boland drew a walk to reach first, with 11 Warriors striking out during the loss.
Looft finished out the tournament the way she started, going 2-for-4 smacking a double and a home run to plate three RBIs in pacing the Warriors to a 5-0 win over Emmetsburg.
Mullen went 1-for-4 with a run scored, while Oleson had a hit and drove in an RBI.
Oleson pitched seven innings allowing just six hits and striking out five to earn the win.
North Union (15-5) travels to play West Bend-Mallard in a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. today in West Bend.
