Benefit planned in St. James
There will be a benefit for Cheryl Lindell from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion in St. James. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in January and is undergoing treatments. They will serve pancakes, eggs and sausage for a free-will offering; there will be a silent auction, with all bids closing at 12:30 p.m. There will be a $1 photo booth from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you have donations for the silent auction, call Emily at (507) 380-2252. Church to hold 'Cowboy Sunday'
First Congregational United Church of Christ will hold a "Cowboy Sunday" at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 319 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont. Steve Lang will sing a variety of cowboy/gospel songs. Dress in cowboy attire if you wish. All are welcome.
Great Books to meet Monday
Great Books will meet 9:30 a.m. Monday at Corry Schermerhorn's home, 1895 Knollwood Dr., Fairmont. The story is "The Hare's Mask" by Mark Slouka.
Teen program slated at Fairmont Library
All teens, ages 11 and up, are invited to a hair-chalking event 2 p.m. Monday at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St., Fairmont. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at (507) 238-4207.
