Earl was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Alden, Minn., the son of William and Carrie (Mickelsen) Hanson. Earl attended elementary school in Winnebago. Following a farm accident at age 3, which left him permanently disabled, he lived in Cambridge, Faribault, St. Peter and most recently in Fairmont. The wonderful staff at HSI in Fairmont helped Earl enjoy cheering for the Minnesota Vikings and Twins, his favorite desert, pecan pie, and visiting with his family and friends. He also worked with STEP Inc. for several years.
Earl is survived by his sisters, Shirley (Buster) Hartman of Winnebago, Doris Wood of Wells, Lynne (David) Smith of New Castle, Ind.; brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Hanson of Rochester, Harlan (Judy) Hanson of Vermillion, S.D., Buzz (Pam) Hanson of Blue Earth, and Jerry (Kris) Hanson of Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Erin O'Neil; and a brother-in-law, Grant Wood.
