Boland went 2-for-3, including a solo round-tripper during the third inning, to generate two RBIs, while ace right-hander Peyton Oleson pitched a two-hit shutout to power North Union to a season-opening 5-0 victory over the Lake Mills Bulldogs on Tuesday in Lake Mills, Iowa.
Oleson recorded nine strikeouts and issued only one walk in seven innings of work to earn the complete-game victory.
Dena Looft went 2-for-3, Taylor Mathine and Emma Engelby each supplied one hit and one RBI, Anna Ingalls singled and scored a pair of runs, while Kyarsten Mullen added a hit for the Warriors.
