KOKOMO, Ind. - Donna Mae (Pope) Kopeschka, 89, of Kokomo, Ind., passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014, at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd., Kokomo, Ind. 46902, with entombment to follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Trimont, Minn., to Ted Pope and Bertha (Olson) Lohmiller. On March 2, 1941, she married Wilbur E. Kopeschka in Hampton, Iowa, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1992. She was a co-founder of Treasure Mart in Kokomo, and she worked at Delco Electronics, also in Kokomo. She was a courageous survivor of breast cancer, and she loved caring for her family and cooking, especially Easter dinners.
She is survived by two sons, Brian (Doris) Kopeschka, and Kevin Kopeschka; one daughter, Pamela Kopeschka, all of Kokomo; six grandchildren, Amy (Keith) Bliss, Megan Scott, Zach Kopeschka, Sarah Kopeschka, Josh Kopeschka, and Amber (John) Granson; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Richard Pope, of Trimont, Minn.
