Micky Edward Kroon was born Dec. 12, 1976, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of David and Deb (Wick) Kroon. Micky attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1994. Following his graduation, Micky worked for Carlyle Plastics in Fairmont for two years and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Micky took his basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill. He then went on to Groten, Conn., for submarine training. The first boat that Micky was assigned to was the USS Hyman G. Rickover, whose home port was in Norfolk, Va. Micky was later assigned to the USS Wyoming and the USS Alabama before becoming a crew member to the newly commissioned USS Mississippi. Micky served as an Electronics Technician Chief and had recently received the rank of Chief Petty Officer. In his spare time, Micky enjoyed spending time with his three children: Haley, Cameron and Kaleb. He loved the outdoors and treasured any opportunity to ride motorcycles especially dirt bikes, a love he, his sons, his dad and brother all shared. Micky was a competitive person and looked forward to softball and flag football games against other boats and their crews. He was also an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and looked forward to attending concerts for his favorite bands. Micky will be greatly missed by those that loved him and called him friend.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Haley Kroon, Cameron Kroon, and Kaleb Kroon; parents, David and Deb Kroon; brother, Derek Kroon; his significant other, Shaileen Carney; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Micky was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Janelle Kroon, and Edward and Rose Wick. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
