WINNEBAGO - Arlene M. Winch, 85, of Winnebago, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Mapleton Community Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Michael Roys, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago.
Visitation time will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home, 345 Sixth Ave. SE in Winnebago, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

She was born Feb. 21, 1929, in rural Bancroft, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Stroebel) Janssen. She moved with her family to Grant Township in 1943 and lived there until she graduated from Grant Consolidated School in 1946. After high school, she went on to beauty school in Fairmont, Minn. She married Chester Winch on May 7, 1950, in Ledyard, Iowa. Together, they lived in Winnebago, Minn., moving to the family farm west of Winnebago in 1974. She was very active in the First Presbyterian Church, loved shopping, cooking, baking, auctions, gardening, working at the Next to New, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Arlys (Michael) Jorgensen of Ankeny, Iowa; sons, Tom (fiancee, Debby McMullen) Winch of Winnebago, and Ron (Lucinda) Winch of Fairfax, Minn.; four grandchildren, Amanda Braun, Justin Winch, Josh Jorgensen, Malinda Jorgensen; two great-grandchildren, Casey Braun, and Julianna Braun; brother, George Janssen; and sister, Joyce Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in 1985; parents; sister, Patricia Mino; and brother, Jim Johnson.
