Crews trying to rescue girl from old mine pit

CHSIHOLM, Minn. (AP) — Officials say they're trying to rescue a girl who fell into an old mine put in Chisholm in northeastern Minnesota.

WDIO-TV ( ) reports the area where the girl fell Monday is about 100 feet down.

Residents say the area is a popular one for kids who like to jump in and swim.

Authorities say the girl has serious injuries.
