MAPLETON - The Fairmont/Martin County West Red Bulls earned six top-three individual showings to place fourth out of eight teams at the Maple River wrestling invitational on Saturday in Mapleton.
Class 2A, No. 7-ranked 152-pounder Joe Weber produced the Red Bulls' only gold-medal performance on the canvas on the day.
Weber received a first-round bye during 152-pound action, earned a second-round decision and edged Albert Lea Area's Dereck Samudio for the championship, 5-4.
Kory Brown and Adrian Moscoffian each placed second for the Red Bulls, while Collin Steuber, Tanner Lange and Luis Figueroa each claimed bronze medals.
Brown received a bye, posted a second-round decision and then lost a 5-1 decision to Class 1A, No. 5-ranked 195-pounder Casey Decker of Maple River in the 195-pound finale.
Meanwhile, Moscoffian kicked off the heavyweight division by posting back-to-back falls before getting pinned by Albert Lea Area's William Mendez in the 285-pound championship match.
Figueroa lost a one-point opening-round decision during 220-pound action, bounced back to earn a second-round fall and then pinned Albert Lea Area's Dominick Fadden in the third-place match.
Steuber posted a first-round fall in the 106-pound bracket, lost a second-round decision to Class 2A, No. 7-ranked Garrett Aldrich of Albert Lea Area and then won a wrestleback decision to reach the third-place match. Steuber then earned a 2-0 win over Hayfield's Jackson Heydt.
Lange dropped a one-point opening-round decision at 160, rebounded for a second-round fall and then outlasted Tri City United's Kyle Hubert in the third-place match, 8-6, in overtime.
Fairmont/Martin County West travels to Blue Earth Area on Friday night for a South Central Conference dual meet.
