TRIMONT - Call it a ladies' day out, or an early jump on Christmas shopping, but the Trimont Area Women's group has a new take on its annual fundraiser.
"We've done the Tour of Tables for about 10 years," said Trimont Area Women secretary Linda Sandberg. "We thought it was time to try something different."
That something different also includes a way to promote many self-employed businesses in the area.
"We have many different vendors," Sandberg said. "We took this opportunity to support them, because there are so many home-based businesses in the area."
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday at Triumph Community Hall.
"It's more of a come-and-go format," Sandberg explained. "There will be food, raffles and door prizes. People can stay for as long as they want, eat when they want or if they want."
The featured event will be at 11:30 a.m., with motivational speaker Gaye Hanson.
"In the past, she's spoken at the Tour of Tables, and she's always been a big hit," Sandberg said.
There is no entry fee to attend the event, and all money raised from food sales and from vendor participation fees will go toward Trimont area projects, organizations, and scholarships.
"It's just a fun day for women, or men too, to look around and do a little Christmas shopping," Sandberg said.
