ROCHESTER - The Blue Earth Area Bucs volleyball team claimed a match victory over St. Louis Park on Saturday to cap a 1-3 showing at the Rochester John Marshall Tournament in Rochester.
After falling to Cannon Falls and Rochester Lourdes in matches on Friday, the Bucs rebounded for a win early on Saturday over St. Louis Park before losing to Irondale in their final match.
Cannons Falls downed the Bucs 25-10, 25-13, before Rochester Lourdes 25-23, 25-7 won the second-round match.
Audrey McDonald recorded six digs in the opening match before smacking three kills in the second.
Nicole Krinke doled out six set assists and went a perfect 4-for-4 serving in the first match, before recording three kills and three set assists against Lourdes.
Mariah Twedt tallied two kills, while Ciarra Olson dispensed three kills and went 4-for-5 serving with one ace against Cannon Falls.
Emma Olson went a perfect 5-for-5 serving against Lourdes, sizzling one ace serve for the Bucs.
In the Bucs victory, McDonald smacked three kills and made four digs, while Rena Zierke went a perfect 14-for-14 serving with six aces from behind the end line.
Krinke fired five kills and doled out five assists in addition to making 11 digs.
Ciarra Olson and Elizabeth Ellis each tallied three kills, with Ellis adding a block in the win.
Kylie Ahl distributed five set assists and Samantha Ripley made one block in the win.
Irondale then swept the Bucs, winning 25-19, 25-22.
McDonald, Ellis and Ciarra Olson each smacked four kills, with McDonald also making six digs.
Ciarra Olson also went 8-for-8 serving with three aces.
Krinke doled out nine set assists, while Ahl tallied four assists.
Haley Resutek made four digs, while Krinke, Ripley and Ciarra Olson each recorded one block.
Blue Earth Area (3-20) hosts Windom in a 7:30 p.m. game today in Blue Earth.
