ST. CLAIR - The Truman Bluejays volleyball lineup played four close matches, but did not collect a win during the St. Clair Invitational on Saturday in St. Clair.
The Mankato Loyola Crusaders downed Truman in first-round action, 25-18, 25-12, before the Sleepy Eye St. Mary's Knights chalked up a 25-18, 25-23 second-round decision over the Bluejays.
The Randolph Rockets posted a 25-14, 25-20 third-round decision over Truman before the Mountain Lake Area Wolverines squeezed by the Bluejays in a three-game match, 25-23, 21-25, 15-6.
Middle hitter Emily Zaharia generated 14 kills, 23 digs, four blocks and four service aces to pace Truman's overall performance during the four-round tournament.
Outside spiker Alexis Jahnz produced 11 kills and 16 digs for the Bluejays, while outside hitter Hanna Hartman collected 11 kills, five digs, two blocks and one service ace.
Cydney Kilian distributed 46 set assists for Truman to complement 12 digs, three kills and two ace serves; Savannah Hodge chipped in six kills; while Courtney Zaharia added three kills and one ace serve.
Truman travels to Wells on Tuesday to face United South Central in a nonconference match before hosting Sleepy Eye St. Mary's on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
