Go Pink to help in fight

October 5, 2013
Fairmont Sentinel

To the Editor:

The "Go Pink" auction was a huge success. Thank you to Fairmont High School staff and students for supporting Go Pink and breast cancer awareness.

Five FHS staff members graciously agreed to auction off the rights to shave their heads. Jack Rooney was the auctioneer for the event and bids ranged from $125 to $285.90 per head. Twyla Williamson from Aspire, a breast cancer survivor, volunteered her expertise to perfect the trimmings.

A total of $880.90 was raised. It will be given to our local oncology department in Fairmont.

An upcoming Go Pink event is the volleyball game versus Blue Earth Area on Tuesday. Wear your Go Pink T-shirt to the event and admission is free.

Support the Cardinals and Go Pink. Shirts can be purchased for $10 at the Holiday Inn, On the Wall and Fairmont Elementary School.
