NEW ULM - The Fairmont Cardinals swept all seven spots in the lineup by straight sets to engineer a 7-0 triumph over the New Ulm Eagles during South Central Conference tennis action on Thursday in New Ulm.

Allison Moeller lost only one game en route to collecting a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Maya Sarkar at No. 1 singles, while Cardinal teammate Sophie Shelgren netted a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Taylor Bolduan at the No. 2 spot in the bracket.

Shantel Quist coasted to back-to-back 6-0 set wins over Mattea Sievert at third singles, while Madisyn Plumhoff produced a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Rose Dobie at No. 4 singles.

Aubrey Green and Missy Viesselman teamed at first doubles to roll to a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Emma Vranich and Gracelyn Sarkar, while the Cardinals' Jill Paris and Briana Gratz combined for a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Jane Arnoldt and Sara Guymon at No. 2 doubles.

Andrea Carstensen and Ellie Tonder capped the shutout by downing Sicily Trullinger and Meleah Reinhart at third doubles, 6-2, 6-1.

Fairmont (10-2, 1-1 SCC) competes in the Mankato West Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday.

St. James 5, Blue Earth Area 2 - The Class A, No. 3-ranked Saints garnered the top three singles matches and two doubles clashes to claim a 5-2 South Central Conference triumph over the Bucs on Thursday in St. James.

Lorena Hernandez, who's ranked No. 8 in the individual state poll, posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Blue Earth Area's Karleigh Wolff at No. 1 singles action.

Julia Boeve downed Kaitlyn Olsen at second singles, 6-2, 6-2, before St. James' Aubrey Eckstrom duplicated Boeve's winning margin in defeating Lindsey Prokop at the No. 3 spot in the singles bracket.

Acacia Foss and Ashley Frederickson outslugged the Bucs' Karli Olsen and Natali Fellows at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 7-6 (7-5), while the Saints' Morgan Sandmeyer and Alejandra Trapero served a 6-1, 6-3 loss to Kali Viland and Lacey Benz at third doubles.

Anikka Wilhelmi posted BEA's only singles point by outlasting Taylor Nordhausen at the fourth spot in the lineup, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.

Beka Krussow and Paige Darrington produced the Bucs' other team tally, downing hannah Christenson and Anna Haler at second doubles, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.

Blue Earth Area (9-3, 1-1 SCC) competes in the Mankato West Invite at 9 a.m. Saturday.
