ST. JAMES - Funeral services for Marian Wolle, 87, of St. James, will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, St. James with Rev. K. Christian Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Fieldon Cemetery, rural Madelia.

Wolle died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Sturm Funeral Home of St. James is in charge of arrangements. Marian Elizabeth Zoeller was born Feb. 20, 1926, on a farm east of Fairmont, the daughter of John and Mary (Eggers) Zoeller. She was baptized March 21, 1926, and later confirmed Sept. 24, 1939. Marian graduated from Truman High School and Mankato Teachers College. She taught rural school for two years and three years at Fairmont Public School. On June 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Harold Wolle, the couple made their home on a farm near Lewisville and later moved to the farm where Harold was born. Forty-nine years later they moved to St. James. They enjoyed spending winters in Largo, Fla. for many years. They also enjoyed traveling and golf. She also enjoyed oil painting and playing bridge, where she became a Bronze Life Master. She was active in Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School at Trinity Lutheran Church Fieldon. She loved being with her family, husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marian is survived by her husband, Harold of St. James; children, Susan (Steve) Shankland of Charles City, Iowa, Harold John, Jr. (Jane) Wolle of St. James, Barb (Elger) Lorenzsonn of Stillwater, Linda Rasmussen of Bemidji, and Nancy (Tom) Balfanz of St. Cloud; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers, Robert (Elaine) Zoeller of Granada, and Harold (Ramona) Zoeller of Foreston; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Frances Strauser; and son-in-law, Dave Rasmussen.
