SHERBURN - The annual Sherburn Holiday Festival kicks off tonight and goes through the weekend.
The festivities start with the annual Finger Lickin' Chicken Feed at 5 p.m., put on by the Sherburn Fire Department. Dinner will be served from 5-8 p.m., and a street dance with Shirts and Skins performing starts at 8:30 p.m. Both events are sponsored by the Sherburn Fire Department and are being held at the fire hall.
Saturday starts off with an antique tractor and machinery show in the park, sponsored by Prairieland Antique Tractors. At 11 a.m., sand volleyball and bean bag tournaments are slated to begin, while bingo, inflatables, beer garden and food stands will open at noon. Cow pie bingo takes place at 3 p.m., along with a car show. On Saturday evening, the '50s and '60s band Starfire performs from 6-9 p.m., sponsored by Rabbe Grain, Behne Trucking, WFS, and Earl and Charlotte Cordes.
The activities on Sunday begin again at noon at the city park. The kiddie parade takes place at 2:30 p.m., with the Big Parade getting started at 3 p.m.
Events after the parade at the city park include a petting zoo, cow pie bingo, and the acapella group SongQuest performing at 4 p.m., sponsored by Rosenberg Construction, Manzey Pioneer Seeds, FCA, NuWay, Tom and Diane Nelson and the David Janssen family.
The pedal power kids tractor pull will take place at 4:30 p.m., sponsored by Bank Midwest and Martin County Implement. The Bee Kays will take the entertainment stage at 5 p.m., sponsored by Rosenberg Construction, Manzey Pioneer Seeds, FCA, NuWay, Tom and Diane Nelson and the David Janssen family. Events will wrap up with the raffle drawing to be held at 7 p.m.
