ST. PETER - The St. Peter Saints boys tennis team swept the singles bracket to pace a 6-1 South Central Conference victory over the Fairmont Cardinals on Tuesday in St. Peter.
J.T. Viesselman and Andrew Johnson teamed up to take the lone Cardinal victory in the second doubles spot, defeating the Saints' Nels Kallaus and Avery Bachman, 6-2, 7-5.
St. Peter's Nathan Huber dealt Sterling Johnson a 6-0, 6-0 loss at first singles before Matthew Huber downed Austin Becker, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
The Saints' Zeke Haugen defeated Ryan Busche 6-1, 6-3 and Joey Moore beat Carter Klanderud 6-0, 6-3 in third and fourth singles, respectively, to complete the bracket sweep.
The Saints then finished out their win with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spots.
Alex Willson and Ben Gault teamed up for a 6-3, 6-4 win over Grant Becker and Tyler Head at first doubles.
Noah Adamson and Drew Elofson then completed the Saints' winning ways with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Jake Kallenbach and Mitch Anderton at No. 3 doubles.
Farimont (2-10) hosts Albert Lea at 4 p.m. Thursday.
